BLIS-400 Release 7.4

Bridgman, MI, December 16, 2013 -B&L Information Systems, the leader in ERP software for foundries and die casters, announces the BLIS-400 Release 7.4 is now available to all BLIS users. As originally announced at the 2011 Spectrum, B&L is in the final stages of sunsetting BLIS-GUI (Graphical User Interface). Users of BLIS-GUI should be aware of the following:

The final BLIS-GUI Product Release was 7.3. In Release 7.4, any screen changes which impact the GUI are rendered in a text-based screen similar to green screen.
B&L no longer offers additional BLIS-GUI licenses. Client licenses are limited to the number currently owned.
After November 30, 2013 B&L will not be able to acquire new server licenses from Rocket Software, the third-party provider of license code for AS400/i5. Upgrading to a new AS400/i5 after November 30, 2013 will mean that the BLIS-GUI will no longer function.

B&L will continue to support and upgrade BLIS-400, BLIS-EDI, BLIS-MMI, BLIS-DC, and BLIS-MPC. All functionality will remain intact.

BLIS-400 User Installation Instructions for Release 7.4

Below is a link to an installation questionnaire form that you will need to complete before B&L can schedule your installation. It is imperative that you provide all of the requested information so that B&L's Support Team can verify that your system meets the prerequisites for the 7.4 installation.

Please supply three preferred dates, in order of preference, and indicate any circumstances, such as plant shutdown, that makes one date preferable to the others. As always, B&L will schedule the upgrades in the order that they are received, while making every effort to accommodate special circumstances.

(Note: Release 7.4 requires OS/400 at V5R1 or higher.)
