B&L Information Systems Celebrates 50 Years Serving the Metalcasting Industry

Five decades of industry-focused ERP innovation supporting metalcasters through industry change

Bridgman, Michigan — April 1, 2026

B&L Information Systems is proud to announce its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of providing ERP solutions built specifically for the metalcasting industry.

Founded in 1976 by Richard “Dick” Laney, a metalcasting professional with 25 years of foundry experience, B&L was established to address a clear need—software designed to reflect how foundries actually operate. From the beginning, the company has remained focused on serving metalcasters.

Over the past 50 years, B&L has supported metalcasting operations across a wide range of processes and business models. Through continued industry change, the company has evolved its technology while maintaining a consistent commitment to customer support and long-term relationships.

“Our focus has always been straightforward—build solutions that help metalcasters run better operations,” said Kevin Ramirez, President of B&L Information Systems. “Reaching 50 years is a reflection of the trust our customers have placed in us and the strength of the partnerships we’ve built across the industry.”

Odyssey ERP represents the latest evolution of that commitment. Designed specifically for modern metalcasting operations, Odyssey ERP connects shop floor and business systems to provide real-time visibility, improve decision-making, and support scalable, cloud-based performance.

As the company looks ahead, B&L remains focused on continued investment in technology, customer success, and the long-term future of the metalcasting industry.
