B&L INFORMATION SYSTEMS HOSTS AFTERHOURS OPEN HOUSE

Bridgman Software Firm Invites Business Community

 

Bridgman, MI, May 12, 2016 - Bridgman, Michigan-based ERP system provider, B&L Information Systems, has announced an afterhours open house on June 2, 2016. The afterhours will be hosted by the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber & Growth Alliance from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.

Now in the second generation of management with CEO Philip Laney at the helm, B&L Information Systems has a staff of 34 employees supporting the use of B&L's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software technology by over 400 metalcasters worldwide. Under Philip Laney's leadership, B&L has earned numerous accolades for exceptional customer service and grown at an unprecedented rate.

B&L Information Systems was founded in 1976 by Richard (Dick) Laney and a partner as a software company developing management information systems for manufacturers. Originally housed in office space on Lake Street in Bridgman, the company grew quickly. As the customer base was refined exclusively to metalcasters, B&L's R&D Department created a software system designed to specifically fit the metalcasting industry, BLIS, based on the commonly used AS-400 manufacturing server. In 2000, B&L built the first Windows-based ERP software system for metalcasters, Odyssey, to increase information integration from the manufacturing shop floor to the administrative front office. As the availability and acceptance of Software as a Service (SaaS) moved into the manufacturing sector, B&L was at the forefront with Odyssey SaaS in 2009. In 2015, B&L introduced a browser-based version of Odyssey for mobile use. B&L pioneered the first metalcasting software users' conference in 1982 and continues to host a yearly users' conference.

B&L Information Systems invites the greater Bridgman business community to their afterhours open house which will be held from 4:30pm - 6:30pm on June 2, 2016 at 4707 Rambo Road. Tours of the facility will commence at 4:30pm; light appetizers and drinks will be available. While open to the greater Bridgman business community, RSVPs to Calli Berg at the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber & Growth Alliance would be appreciated for planning.
