Bridgman, MI, September 23, 2015 - B&L Information Systems, the leader in ERP software for foundries and die casters, has launched Odyssey 4.7 MR4 for general availability. This general availability release encompasses both the Windows User Interface (UI) and Web UI. For clients who host Odyssey on their own servers, also known as "on premise", Odyssey 4.7 MR4 download information is available through B&L's customer portal. Odyssey SaaS (or "cloud") clients will be contacted by B&L's Technology Department with the update schedule.

"The R&D department at B&L codes each Odyssey update based on customer feedback received via the Customer Feedback Forum, direct customer interaction, and satisfaction surveys. Every Odyssey ERP software release includes programming enhancements specifically designed for the business processes and information needs of metalcasters."

A sampling of Odyssey 4.7 MR4 enhancements:

1. Material Inventory Item - Stop Code Notifier: When a material item has the stop code removed, an e-mail will be sent automatically to a defined recipient list.
2. Linking Shop Orders from Product/Core Master: The Product Master [MT1320] and Core Master [MT1420] screens now include the ability to open Shop Orders natively for the screen for the selected item.
3. Production Interface - Production Entry Plugin (Web UI only): The Production Entry Plugin enhancement will eliminate keying mistakes by allowing for an interactive interface with those devices and machines which are enabled with an internet connection.
4. Button Designer (Web UI only): Allows company-wide, standardized button design for data entry.

The full version of Odyssey's Web UI is available as a limited release beta; the Web UI version of the Shop Floor Manager module is available for all users. This zero-client ERP technology eliminates the need for metalcasting manufacturers to use specialty devices and 3rd party software interfaces to get the most out of their ERP. The Odyssey's Web UI Shop Floor Manager may be used with any browser-based device, including laptops and tablets; supported browsers include Internet Explorer, FireFox, or Chrome.
