Odyssey 7.3 Brings New Tools to Improve Shop Floor Visibility and Production Efficiency

 

Bridgman, Michigan — May 2026 — B&L Information Systems, a provider of ERP solutions built specifically for metalcasters, has released version 7.3 of its Odyssey ERP platform. The update focuses on improving day-to-day operations on the shop floor, reducing manual work, and making production and scheduling processes easier to manage. Odyssey 7.3 introduces new capabilities designed to better align the system with how work actually happens in production environments.

 

Key enhancements in Odyssey 7.3 include:

• Digital maintenance notes and checklists that allow operators to capture information directly within work orders, replacing manual tracking and improving visibility
• Modernized production screens built in the updated UI, delivering a faster and more user-friendly experience
• Embedded video support within Odyssey and Shop Floor Manager, making it easier to access training and instructions during production
• Automatic completion of shop routing sequences, helping prevent confusion caused by unfinished or unused routing steps
• Automatic creation of shop orders based on lot size, simplifying scheduling for large castings and complex jobs

These updates reflect a continued focus on delivering practical improvements that align with how work actually happens on the shop floor. Many of the enhancements address common challenges such as manual tracking, incomplete production data, and time spent navigating between screens.

Availability
