Odyssey Release 4.6

Bridgman, MI, January 28, 2014 - B&L Information Systems, the leader in ERP software for foundries and die casters, has launched Odyssey 4.6 for general availability. For clients who host Odyssey on their own servers, Odyssey 4.6 download information is available in the customer portal. SaaS clients will be contacted by B&L's Technology Department with the update schedule.

The complete release notes for Odyssey 4.6, with detailed explanations of each function, are available via B&L's customer portal (Customer Login) under "Odyssey Downloads" and then "Enhancement Documentation". While significant enhancements were made across all modules, highlights from two specific modules - Shop Floor Manager and Maintenance Management - include:

  • The Shop Floor Manager Module now allows for e-mail notifiers to be sent when jobbing on or off particular jobs. For critical jobs requiring oversight, the e-mail notification can be sent for any step in the product's routing.
  • Within the Maintenance Management Module, the new Equipment Downtime Functionality allows for auto-creation of: maintenance work orders, e-mail notifications, and re-sets equipment status using a new color coded alert system.

A beta feature of the 4.6 release is the ability to use Shop Floor Manager with any browser-based device; supported browsers include Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome or Safari. This eliminates the need for specialty devices and 3rd party software interfaces. Clients interested in participating in the beta test may contact Support@BLInfo.com.

Odyssey users can update from any version of Odyssey to Odyssey 4.6. The Installation Questionnaire Form below will help clients with the upgrade process. Below is a link to an installation questionnaire form that you will need to complete before B&L can schedule your installation. It is imperative that you provide all of the requested information so that B&L's Support Team can verify that your system meets the prerequisites for the Odyssey 4.6 installation.

Please supply three preferred dates, in order of preference, and indicate any circumstances, such as plant shutdown, that makes one date preferable to the others. As always, B&L will schedule the upgrades in the order that they are received, while making every effort to accommodate special circumstances.
